A Main Street town in the middle of the Hills, on the 1880 Train line and the Mickelson Trail.
Hill City started as a gold rush camp in the 1870s, and it sits right in the middle of the Hills, so Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse and Custer State Park are all an easy drive away. The 1880 Train runs from here to Keystone on an old mining line, and the Mickelson Trail passes straight through town. Main Street is lined with galleries, shops and places to eat, and it's a good place to stop and walk for an hour.
