Nemo, SD
A tiny sawmill town on the back road between Rapid City and Deadwood.
Nemo is a handful of buildings along Boxelder Creek, northwest of Rapid City on Nemo Road. It started as a sawmill town, and a Civilian Conservation Corps camp worked out of here in the 1930s. The road through Nemo is a quiet, winding way north toward Deadwood, and it's a good choice if you'd rather skip the interstate.
About 35 minutes from Rapid City by car.
